Sofia Ester was born in 1978, in Lisbon. She wrote the book Adozinda when she was fifteen years old. The book was then published in 1995.

Next, she wrote the books Adozinda e Zulmiro - A magia da adolescência and Adozinda - A Faculdade de Ciências Ocultas.

Sofia Ester also wrote a book, Carta de Amor a Luís de Camões, whose proceeds were donated to the children of Timor Loro Sae.

Sofia Ester was a member of the jury of the New Readers - New Writers contest, organized by the Lisbon City Hall. She also gave several conferences about her books in schools and libraries in Portugal.

Sofia Ester created the site Lisbon School of Magic in 2008. This site contains several games. Many of these games are educational.

Sofia Ester is a teacher since 2002.

Awards:

• Sofia Ester was one of the winners of the Fourth National Contest of Junior Journalism organized by the Comissão Nacional para a Comemoração dos Descobrimentos Portugueses. The prize was a journey to Macau, Hong-Kong and China.
• One of her stories also received an award in the IBM Leonardo Da Vince 95 Contest.
